JAX® pewter black produces a consistent black antique finish on pewter, lead, brass, bronze, copper, nickel and tin-lead alloys—even solder joints—quickly and easily. Polish with steel wool or a polishing cloth after applying the pewter black to highlight areas. Over-darken surfaces initially, if desired, then relieve with a polishing cloth or steel wool to duplicate finishes. Workpieces may be waxed, oiled or lacquered after application to preserve the finish. Contains hydrochloric acid, selenious acid and copper sulfate.
